Performing Arts collections at the University of Houston Libraries contain the records of well-known Houston-area organizations, as well as a few prominent collections from further afield, that document theater companies, directors, producers, and solo performers, as well as non-professional groups. The first such collection, the Cheryl Crawford Papers, was acquired in 1978 with the idea of building an archive that would document various facets of the performing arts.
