Give to UH Libraries

Strategic Priorities 2017 brochure (pdf, 9.7 mb)

Memorial & Honorary Program

A gift to UH Libraries is a significant way to honor or memorialize loved ones, recognize joyous occasions, express gratitude, or commemorate lives that matter to you most –- while also empowering education and making a meaningful contribution to your community.

For big reasons, or no reason at all

  • Celebrate – birthdays, Mother's Day, Father's Day, wedding anniversaries, bar or bat mitzvahs, births, graduations, holidays
  • Recognize achievements, promotions, retirements, or milestones
  • Offer condolences or sympathy

When you make a commemorative gift, an attractive personalized card & letter is sent to the person or family you specify. The amount of the gift is never disclosed unless you request us to do so.

We send a tax receipt to you, the donor, since UH Libraries are a part of the University of Houston, a tax qualified charitable & educational organization.

Each gift is used to improve and expand the  library’s facilities, equipment, and programs in keeping with our strategic plan. You will also receive recognition inside eligible donor publications.

A gift of $100 or more can be used to create a commemorative bookplate inside an item in a subject matter of your choice. Thereafter, anyone using this material will view your tribute. An electronic version will also be created in our digital record, and can be viewed online.

Acorn Endowment Program

By establishing an Acorn Account with an initial gift of $1,000 payable during the first year, and making subsequent annual gifts during the next decade, your donations will become a permanent investment in the future of a great library, and the public we serve. Your early gifts will be pooled with other Acorn Accounts to provide annual interest income designated to support the Libraries’ greatest needs.

Just by setting up and Acorn Account you are creating a yearly gift to the library.

Once your account reaches $10,000 your donations will form a new endowed fund that can be directed to any UH Libraries’ priority area, at your discretion.

Your personalized Acorn Endowment will last in perpetuity—empowering others and transforming lives forever.

Grow it faster! Check to see if your, or a spouse’s, employer matches gifts in support of education at the University of Houston.

Leadership Gifts Program

There are numerous ways to make other gifts that are transformational to students, and you and your family as well. UH Libraries Strategic Priorities create meaningful and personal opportunities for your philanthropic support of our mission. They allow you to reach out, inspire, and fully recognize the transformative power you can create so you may share in the joy and beneficial outcomes of your philanthropy.
