Featuring new creative writing faculty Ange Mlinko and Kevin Prufer:

Ange Mlinko is the author of three books of poems, including Starred Wire, which was a National Poetry Series pick in 2004 as well as a finalist for the James Laughlin Prize, and Shoulder Season, which is just out from Coffee House Press. She is the 2009 winner of the Poetry Foundation’s Randall Jarrell Award for criticism, which has appeared in Poetry magazine, the London Review of Books, Bookforum, and the Nation, where her on-line column on language, “Lingo,” is also regularly featured. Born in Philadelphia, she has recently come from a year in Beirut, Lebanon, after living for many years in New York. 

Kevin Prufer is the author of four poetry collections, the most recent of which, National Anthem (Four Way, 2008), was named one of the five best poetry books of the year by Publishers Weekly. He’s also editor of several volumes, including New European Poets (Graywolf, 2008) and New Young American Poets (Southern Illinois, 2000) and Editor-at-Large of Pleiades: A Journal of New Writing. The recipient of three Pushcart Prizes and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Lannan Foundation, he is Professor in the Creative Writing Program at the University of Houston. His next book, In a Beautiful Country, will be published in 2011.
