Wenli Gao

Communication, Sociology, and Anthropology Librarian


Wenli Gao is the Communication, Sociology, and Anthropology Librarian at University of Houston. She is responsible for collection management, research and instruction support for these departments. Wenli is active in American Library Association (ALA), Association for Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS), and Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL). She serves as the chair of ALCTS collection evaluation and assessment interest group, and member of ACRL appointments committee and Resources for College Libraries Editorial Board. She is also a new member of CALA Journal of Library & Information Science English Editor Team. Wenli’s research interests include collection assessment and data visualization. She has presented various topics at ALA, ACRL, ER&L and NASIG conferences.


Before coming to the UH Libraries, Wenli earned a Master of Library Science from Syracuse University, and an MS in Communication Media Technologies from Rochester Institute of Technology. She previously provided instruction and research support at SUNY Morrisville and University of Central Oklahoma.
