The e-book reader project will assess librarian experiences with e-book readers in order to gain a general understanding of the devices and develop a potential model for checking out e-book readers to faculty and students. This project will examine the two most popular e-book readers, the Amazon Kindle and the Sony Reader Digital Book. The project will also compare the e-book readers to reading e-books on the iPod touch.

This tech “petting zoo” allows attendees to interact with gadgets in an informal, round-table setting. Devices (such as eReaders, iPads, and smartphones) will be available for hands-on experimentation, and librarians will answer your questions at each station.
