With library budgets stretched tighter, special projects are put on hold for lack of money. This problem is making successful grant-writing significantly more important. Our project would offer a grant-writing workshop to Houston regional librarians. With a focus on tips and tricks to ensuring successful grant-writing for Federal, State and private foundation grants, the program will consist of a speaker to discuss foundation grants, grant-writing must-dos, and tools for finding and applying for library grants for the first half of the day. The second half of the day would be a panel discussion with awardees, research departments, grant writers and foundation personnel.
