Acorn Endowment

Acorn Fund

The Acorn Endowment is a new way to start an endowment at the University of Houston Libraries.

The Acorn Endowment at the University Libraries is an endowment that has already been fully funded by a generous donor. Those who want to begin their own endowment can do so through The Acorn Endowment with a first gift of $1,000 or more. Each year, or as funds become available, gifts can be added to your own Acorn Account within The Acorn Endowment until the minimum funding level of $10,000 is reached through donations. Once your Acorn Account reaches full funding though gifts, it can be removed from The Acorn Endowment to become a stand alone endowment, ready to provide the Library with interest income for whatever purpose you select.

Anyone can contribute to your Acorn Account at anytime and for any reason:

You can take as little or as long as you need to reach full funding on your Acorn Account – there is no time limit on this funding period. During the funding period of your account, all distributable interest income will support the library’s greatest need.
