Locate Books

1. Start with the UH Library Catalog.
The UH Library Catalog is a combined database of the items available in the University of Houston (Main and branch libraries), UH Downtown, and UH Clear Lake libraries. Search by author or title if you have a particular book in mind. Or, if you want to find books on a topic, enter in a few descriptive words as a keyword search.

For example, if you were looking for books on:

You could keyword search: hackers legislation

2. Write down the library location and call number.
The book will be available on the shelf if the status is listed as IN LIBRARY.

3. Use the Call Number Location Guide to find floor where the book is located.
Check the Call Number Location Guide for books located in the ANDERSON/GENERAL COLL. For books in other libraries, visit the Information/Reference desk in that library to find the location of the call number.

 

4. Check out books at the Service Desk with a Cougar 1Card.
