As a newcomer to the Houston area, you will likely be impressed with all the city has to offer in terms of entertainment and the finer leisurely pursuits. You can attend sporting events ranging from pro hockey to arena football, visit a water park, attend a ballet, tour the outdoor zoo, or spend an afternoon in one of Houston's eleven museums, which feature everything from Renaissance art to hands-on science exhibits. Houston is home to more than 100 art galleries, and the Theater District offers numerous attractions, whether you enjoy opera, ballet, theater, cabaret, or classical music. You will also find a diverse nightlife scene, with plenty of live music, including visiting musical talents from all over the world, and numerous dance clubs. Hungry yet? Houston offers many highly-rated restaurants featuring cuisines from around the world, and as prices tend to be about half of what you would pay for a meal in New York City, you will find Houston a very affordable place to eat out.
