Due to Houston's population and industry growth, the economy is generally strong. The area's main fields of job growth include retail, manufacturing, education, and construction, and NASA and the oil and gas industries provide many jobs in science, engineering, and mathematics. The Texas Medical Center is also a good source of employment opportunities. Nevertheless, the area's population continues to grow, and you may find some competition in your job search.
