Attractions

Although Houston has much to offer within the city limits, one of its many attractions is its central location. Those wishing to get out of town for the day or the weekend will find many opportunities for enjoyment in neighboring areas. Fort Bend County, Lake Conroe, Old Town Spring, and Galveston offer various activities of interest, including water sports, hiking, shopping, and historical attractions. Fort Bend County offers historical parks, museums, and antiques shops, while Galveston Island is home to the Strand Historic District and the beautiful Moody Gardens, and provides a seaside escape from the hustle and bustle of city life within a mere hour's drive.
