Libraries Spotlight

John Updike

Check out the exhibition on the first floor of M.D. Anderson Library on the work of American writer John Updike, who died on January 27, 2009. Updike was a prodigious novelist, poet, essayist, reviewer, critic and playwright. The exhibition draws on the more than 200 items held by UH Libraries’ Special Collections. These include first editions, signed editions, photographs, and broadsides.

Dana Rooks and the UH Libraries win awards

The UH Libraries was a multiple award winner at the Annual Conference of the Texas Library Association last week. Dana Rooks, Dean of Libraries, was awarded the 2009 TLA Distinguished Service Award. The Libraries also won two Branding Iron Awards for its marketing. Finally, the Libraries came in first place at the annual Book Cart Drill Team competition. Read more about it!
