Elizabeth D. Rockwell Heritage Lecture Series

The Elizabeth D. Rockwell Heritage Lecture, presented by the UH Libraries, serves as a forum to showcase achievements and successes of the University of Houston and its people. This series is made possible through the generosity of UH alumna Elizabeth D. Rockwell. Dr. Rockwell is an ardent supporter of the University Libraries including establishment of an endowed chair for the Dean of Libraries and permanent funding to support special collections and archives.

As a member of the Capital Campaign Committee, she made a lead-gift commitment to the M.D. Anderson Library's Expansion and Renovation Project. In recognition and in honor of her extraordinary support of the campaign and her continued advocacy of the UH Libraries, the building's new special events room-which offers a much-needed venue for library and university functions-is named the Elizabeth D. Rockwell Pavilion.

For more than three decades, Dr. Rockwell has contributed to numerous areas throughout UH both as a volunteer and donor. In addition to her involvement with the UH Libraries, she has served as a board chair and is a lifetime member of the Houston Alumni Organization-which houses the Elizabeth D. Rockwell Presidential Suite. Her support has helped many UH colleges and enhanced the educational experiences of thousands. She established endowed chairs for the Deans of the Cullen College of Engineering and College of Education. In the C. T. Bauer College of Business Administration, the Elizabeth D. Rockwell Career Services Center opened in 1997.

Dr. Rockwell's continuing efforts to develop stronger connections across campus and with the greater Houston community are what make the University of Houston a great university.
