Notice of Copyright
WARNING CONCERNING COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials.
Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research". If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use", that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
Each semester (including summer), UH students will receive a $7.50 copying/printing credit on their Cougar 1Card. This credit will allow you to copy up to 500 single-sided B/W pages or 250 double-sided (duplex) B/W pages per semester at no charge.
You can also use your credit to print in any of the computer labs within the library.
Once your printing/copying credit has been used, additional copying is only $0.015/pg ($0.03/pg duplex) for black and white (color copying not available) debited from your Cougar Card Flex Account. You can add value to your Cougar Card Flex Account online via AccessUH.
UH Faculty and Staff
UH faculty and staff also receive the $7.50 copy/printing credit on their Cougar Card. This balance is applied at the start of each semester.
Visitors to the UH Libraries should speak with library staff regarding copying. We recommend bringing a USB flash drive with you to copy documents and articles for printing at home as copying services for visitors are limited.
Scanners are located on the first floor and in the basement of MD Anderson Library. Multiple scanners are available for public use, including large format and KIC Walk-Up scanners.
Scanners are also available in the branch libraries.
