Policies

The M.D. Anderson Library is divided into "Learning Zones;" select the zone you need:

Zone	Description	Locations
	For groups and activities Conversations and group study permitted No restriction on cell phone usage Area may be noisy	1 Red & Gold 2 Red & Gold 3 Red 7 Blue 8 Blue
	For small groups and casual study Conversations should be whispered Small group study (2-4) permitted Set cell phones to vibrate or silent; please exit area to take phone calls	Basement Red & Gold 3 Gold
	For individual study with no interruptions No conversations permitted No group study permitted in these areas Set cell phones to vibrate or silent; please exit area to take phone calls	Regent's Reading Room (2 Red) 2 Blue & Brown 3 Blue & Brown 4 Blue & Brown 5 Blue & Brown 6 Blue

Security officers and library staff patrol these areas regularly. Please contact the Service Desk or the Information Desk if individuals or a group is making excessive noise.

Individuals can use any of the unassigned study carrels on the 4-6th floors of the Blue Wing.

The quietest areas of the library are on the upper floors of the Brown Wing (4-5) and the Blue Wing (4-8).
