Student Affairs
The Division of Student Affairs is one of the broad component parts of the University of Houston. Its mission statement, like the University of Houston’s mission, emphasizes developing the skills, abilities and capabilities of individuals and organizations, preparation of professionals, lifelong learning, the development of a sense of institutional community and pride, and the acquisition and application of knowledge to solve societal problems. The mission implements the University goal of strengthening the services to students and our campus environment. Student Affairs has approximately 400 employees and an annual operating budget of $35 million dollars. Student Affairs is divided administratively into the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and seven divisions which report directly to the Vice President for Student Affairs: Enrollment Management; Health Center; Residential Life & Housing (RLH); Student Development; Student Services; Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS); and Learning and Assessment (LAS). Currently the Vice President for Student Affairs is Dr. Elwyn Lee.
