Houston Junior College founded 03/27/1927
The Board of Education of the Houston Independent School District founds the Houston Junior College, with HISD Superintendent E. E. Oberholtzer as president. Summer session opens with classes held at the San Jacinto High School, an enrollment of 230 students, and a faculty of eight.
