Name changed to University of Houston 04/30/1934
The school's name changes to the University of Houston and it becomes a four-year institution. Day classes for 909 students held in Houston's Second Baptist Church. Before 1934, all classes were night classes so as not to conflict with San Jacinto High School's schedule.
